Maurice Ostro
After the passing of Max Ostro in 2010, his son Maurice Ostro OBE KFO, has been guiding the company to secure the future of its employees and to focus it on achieving a positive societal impact. He is a serial entrepreneur, having started, built and sold companies in the airline supply, frozen yogurt, food production, media distribution and other industries, then dedicated himself to philanthropy. When his father passed away in 2010, he agreed to take on the responsibility of running the company to secure the future of its employees and to focus it on achieving a positive societal impact.
The Ostro Topaz Gemstone
Besides using the company to provide help and support to charities, Maurice looked at leveraging its skills and resources in a number of areas. This led to the inclusion of the unique blue topaz gemstone pictured below as one of the popular additions to the Natural History Museum gemstone collection.
